I just read
here that Ann Richards passed away at the age of 73 from esophageal cancer. I met her briefly at our hotel during the
March for Women's Lives in D.C. a couple of years ago. I always admired how she got straight to the point and didn't ever mince words. The Democratic Party has lost a true champion.

She was a wonderful woman- she'll be missed.
(The first thing I said when I heard the news was that I waited for an elevator with her in DC.)
